Greul One-HIts Kewanee

Bill Lee Greul took the mound for the second game of the day for the Mustangs and allowed only one hit on the chilly night as Morrison topped the Kewanee Boilermakers by a 5-2 score.

The Mustangs scored in the first with small ball when Alwx Volckmann walked and reached second on a pased ball and third on a sacrifice bunt by Danny Willis.  Volckmann then scampered home on a 6-3 groundout by Alex Fischbach to open the scoring for the Mustangs.  They scored again in ther fourth following as Andrew Connelly singled and a base on balls to Brock Deter, Connor Duncan doubled home Connelly and advanced Deter to third before Bill Lee Greul scored Deter on a deepsacrifice fly to left center.  The sixth inning saw Joey Brackemyer single and advance on a Bill Lee Greul double and score on a Houzenga double to left field.

 

Kewanee secored in the sixth when Zach Brown ruined Greul no-hitter with a single and scored on three past balls. The second run followed a base on balls and two wild pitches and a ground out before Greul settled to close the scoring for the Boilermakers.
