On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker announced he will extend his stay-at-home Executive Order through Thursday, April 30, 2020, as part of the State’s effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. The new order means that public and private schools across Illinois will remain closed for another month.
The news comes as State officials announced 937 additional coronavirus cases and 26 more deaths. Since January, there have been 5994 known cases of COVID-19, including 99 deaths, in 54 of the State’s 102 Counties.
