Gordon “Gordy” Bramm, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA.
Gordy was born April 2, 1945, in Savanna, IL, to Woodrow W. and Mary Vivian (McMahon) Bramm. He was a graduate of Morrison High School. On July 31, 1966 he married Mary M. Gruber in Fulton, IL. Gordy owned and operated Bramm Tree Service in Fulton for 55 years. He was a life member of Boy Scout Troop #96 in Morrison. Gordy was an enthusiastic racing fan, which began at the Speed Bowl Park in Sterling, IL, and continued throughout his life. He was a very social person who never met a stranger. He also was a giving man and enjoyed helping anyone in need, following the Boy Scout slogan, “Do a good turn daily.” Gordy loved animals, especially his cat, Scooter. Above all, his work and his grandchildren were his life.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter, Julie (Chris) Harding of Rochelle, IL; son, James Bramm of Morrison; four grandchildren, Allysa, Gabrielle, Shannon, and Christian Harding; sister, Patricia Flynn of Sandwich, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael, in infancy; brother, John “Woody” Bramm.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Father Slawomir Zimodro of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating.
A Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to (Morrison) Boy Scout Troop #96 has been established.
