Mike and Elizabeth Hamilton have a golden anniversary to celebrate with the public at Hilltop Lanes, 629 E. Lincolnway Road, Morrison, IL, on Saturday, September 6, 2014. This Customer Appreciation Day will honor his family’s ownership of the bowling alley for 50 years, from 1964 to 2014.

- From 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. visitors will be treated to a pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, and soda.
During Morrison’s Sesquicentennial celebration in 2005, Golden Businesses were recognized by thecity1.com, as local enterprises who had been in place for 50 or more years. Hilltop Lanes began in 1951, and was 54 years old in 2005. The Hamilton family created their unique 50-year milestone, owning a bowling alley that is now 63.
On March 24, 2005, the Editor took this photo of Mike holding a mosaic “bowling” ball decorated with a Green Bay Packers logo. He still owns the glass orb. Mike’s children, Kara and Ben, were ages nine and ten, respectively at the time.
