GIBT Rolls Into Morrison

The 2023 Grand Illinois Bike Tour (GIBT) traveled to Morrison, IL, on their trip through northwest Illinois, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Resident Cyclist Marc Adami was part of the event. This year, approximately 190 GIBT riders–from 19 States and Canada–pedaled between 210-to-375 miles during their six-day tour.

The Grand Illinois Bike Tour starts and ends at Kewanee[, IL,] High School with overnights in Moline, Savanna, and Rock Falls. Approximately 160 riders will stay two nights in Rock Falls, Wednesday, June 14, and Thursday, June 15.

Riders were welcomed by Morrison members of Friends of the Parks. Ride Illinois uses this event–as well as other activities–to “make Illinois better through biking.”

A greeting table and treats were manned by Friends of the Parks at First Presbyterian Church.

Bikers crossed the Whiteside County Covered Bridge.
