Gertrude L. Londo, 90, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at the home.
Gertrude was born August 29, 1924, in Fulton, IL, to Coe and Anna (Borgman) Medema. She was educated in the Rock River Grade School of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. She was also a graduate of Scovill Business College in Sterling, IL. Gertrude married Hubert W. Londo on February 14, 1945, in Erie. She was employed as an office manager for Mt. Pleasant Mutual Insurance Company in Morrison for 19 years. Gertrude was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s Ladies Aid, Lydian, and Philathea Societies and served as church librarian. She was a “Meals on Wheels” volunteer. Gertrude enjoyed reading, baking, and sending greeting cards.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert; two daughters, Sharon (Gerald) Brown of The Villages, FL, and Faye (James) Roberts of Naperville, IL; one son, Richard (Dianne) Londo of Roscoe, IL; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two nephews (whom she raised), William (Diane Smith) Londo and Marc (Dawn) Londo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Clara Hamstra.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
