George F. Burks, Sr., 61 of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at CGH Medical Center.
George was born June 26, 1957, in Sterling, the son of Earl Everett and Patricia (Carew) Burks. He served in the United States Army. He married Angela (Griffith) Burks on March 4, 1978, in Sterling.
Survivors include his wife, Angela of Sterling; two sons, Christopher M. Burks of Morrison, IL, and George F., Jr. ( Melessa) Burks; two sisters, Roberta (Dean) Burks of Como, IL, and LuAnne (Russ) Spencer of Sterling; three brothers, Robert (Barb) Burks, WiIliam Burks, and Kevin (Rhonda) Burks, all of Sterling; one sister-in-law, Brandi Burks of Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timothy Burks.
Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2018, at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, IL, with Dalmus Meeks, officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2018, prior to services at the funeral home.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling.
