The Fulton Chamber of Commerce will host a Mayoral Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Awesometown Video & Music Production, 514 13th Avenue, Fulton, IL. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free event. The forum will begin at 6:00 p.m.and continue until approximately 8:00.
All five Fulton Mayoral candidates have confirmed their participation. They include Barb Suehl-Janis; Howard Van Zuiden; Paula Israel; Kyle Crosthwaite; Mike Ottens. Fulton Chamber of Commerce does not endorse any candidate and is hosting this forum as a nonpartisan stage, for the voices of all candidates to be heard.
The forum will consist of one hour of pre-submitted questions and 30 minutes of “town hall” style questions and answers. Candidates will each have an opportunity to close with a three-minute address to the audience. The event will be moderated by Jerry Lindsey, Editor of Whiteside News Sentinel.
Following the candidate forum a reception will be held, allowing guests to visit with candidates. This is a great opportunity for voters to meet their mayoral candidates, and to hear firsthand where candidates stand on various issues.
There is still time to submit your question to the Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Please email questions to fultonchamber@gmail.com no later than Monday, January 27. While it is unlikely that all questions can be addressed in the allotted time, a diverse representation will be posed to the candidates by the moderator.
