The walking and rolling will be easier at French Creek Park, on the south side of Morrison, IL, soon. City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen stated on Thursday, October 8, 2015, “The south 78 work is on schedule to wrap up by the end of October. The City mowed the French Creek natural area and pulled out trees.”
As a component if its road work on IL Route 78, Illinois Department of Transportation is creating a paved walking path that parallels the highway. The new walk leads from the park entrance. It extends south to join the current walking path and north to meld with the City sidewalk.
“IDOT will pour concrete soon [atop the] gravel,” added CA Dykhuizen.
This transition ramp and new sidewalk lie on the east side of Route 78, taking paws, feet, and wheels safely into town.
