Which is Steven Cole, and which is Frederick Douglass?
Cole is a retired Union craftsman, historian, avid researcher, and reenactor. Douglass was an orator, abolitionist, social reformer, and statesman.
A “living history presenter” from Freeport, IL, Cole, at left, will be featured in the upcoming program by Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society. The meeting is Sunday October 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the CGH Medical Center Ryberg Auditorium, 100 E. LeFevre Road, Sterling, IL. From the main entrance lobby, turn left and proceed to the first hall on the left. The auditorium is at the end of the hall.
Cole will portray Frederick Douglas and discuss the ideas, arguments, and culture of the Country at the time of the Civil War.
The program is free, and everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.
