The Franklin Grove, IL, Harvest Festival Committee “welcones you to old fashioned fun,” during the 35th Harvest Fest celebrationwill be taking place Tuesday, August 5, through Saturday, August 9, 2014. The fair is located at Schell Park, 1/2 mile east of Milledgeville, IL. This year celebrates the 62nd Anniversary of the fair and will have a large variety of events taking place every day.
One of the main events that people enjoy going to is the Demolition Derby. This event takes place at 7:00 p.m., Saturday night, August 9. Grandstand Reserved Seating will take place Saturday, August 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Monday, August 4, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year will also have a “Demolition Derby” for children ages three through nine which uses Power Wheels. Children must have permission from their parent(s) and wear helmets at all times during the derby.
The County Fair also includes a Truck Pull on Tuesday, August 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the grandstands. On Wednesday from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. the Tractor Pull will take place. As a finale to the truck pull, the Tri-County Pullers, Inc. will be showing off their mini rods.
Another event that several people like to attend is the concert that take place. This year, Tracy Lawrence will make an appearance at the fair. Tracy Lawrence is a country artist from Atlanta, TX, who sings the 1999 Hit, “Lesson Learned.” Lawrence will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 8. You may reserve your seats in the grandstand and/or track. At 7:00 p.m. the band, Rout 38, will take the stage before Lawrence.
If you are looking for a concert that your children may attend, there will be one on Thursday, August 7, at 7:30 p.m. by the group Funky Munky Wrestling.
