Flora J. Alls, 74, of Erie, IL, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at her home.
Flora Jean was born June 4, 1942, in Swifton, AR, the daughter of Roy and Hattie (Williford) Fitzwater. She married John W. Alls in Arkansas, and they later moved to Erie, where they made their home. She worked some in her earlier years, but then stayed home to care for her family and pets. Flora enjoyed being outdoors and loved to take care of their large yard. She was an animal lover, especially of her own pets. Anyone who visited her home recognized her Southern hospitality and was surely offered something to eat.
She is survived by her sons, John Myron Alls, Morrison, IL, and Jeff (Jody) Alls, Erie; grandsons, John Jacob Alls, Rock Falls, IL, and Jesse Jay Nelson, Erie; her beloved dogs, Dot, Lisa, and Fae.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. in 2016; brothers, Paul, Merle, and Coy Fitzwater; sisters, Mildred James, Lucille Ayers, and Ruth Alls; four siblings as toddlers.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery, Erie, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be established.
