This is a reminder about the 5th Annual Flock to the Rock ’25 events, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Rock Falls American Legion, 712 Fourth Avenue, Rock Falls, IL. There will be nature and educational vendors. Food will be available from the Rock Falls American Legion Auxiliary. This family event is free and welcomes all ages.
Robert Storm, ice carver, returns for live ice carving outside, in the parking lot area of the Rock Falls American Legion, during the same hours.
Prior to 10:00, everyone is encouraged to visit the lower dam area (300 W. First Street, Rock Falls), to see eagles soaring around the Rock River. Bring binoculars and/or cell phone, or camera to catch them in action.
The following speakers will be at the Rock Falls American Legion:
10:15 a.m. – Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education with live birds of prey
11:30 a.m. – Chief White Winnebago (Gerald Savage) – Native American Storytelling
1:00 p.m. – Gary Metivier – Wildlife Presentation and signing of his new book.
