Mark your calendar for this upcoming, family event. Rock Falls Tourism will present its 5th Annual “Flock to the Rock” event on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please note the venue has changed from the previous years. It will be held at the Rock Falls American Legion, 712 4th Avenue, Rock Falls, IL.
Special note: Prior to 10:00, everyone is encouraged to visit the lower dam area (300 W. 1st Street, Rock Falls), and see eagles soaring around the Rock River. Be sure you bring your binoculars and/or camera to catch them in action.
This is a great opportunity for all ages to
⇒learn about eagles and other birds of prey
⇒listen to Native American storytelling
⇒meet author Gary Metivier
⇒watch live ice carving.
The event inside Rock Falls American Legion will have the following speakers:
10:15 – Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab & Education with live birds of prey
11:30 – Chief White Winnebago (Gerald Savage) – Native American Storytelling
1:00 – Gary Metivier – Presentation/signing.
Between 10:00 and 2:00
∗Ice Carver Robert Storm will carve ice in the Legion parking area.
∗There will be nature and educational vendors.
∗Rock Falls American Legion Auxiliary will sell food.
