Firemen Serve Lunch and Collect for Toy Drive

MFDJeffEissensMorrison firefighter Jeff Eissens, a veteran of 28 years, welcomed the public to the drive-through sandwich sale at the Morrison Fire Station, 206 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, on Saturday, November 22, 2014.  Between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., firefighters sold grilled butterflied pork chops, brats, and hot dogs.  Chips, a cookie, and a drink were included.

Also available was the opportunity to drop off cash or Christmas toys to support the department’s 5th Annual Kids Toy Drive, called “Caring for Our Community.”

In just a few weeks, Santa and Mrs. Claus will deliver a Merry Christmas to local children, conveyed in shiny firehouse equipment.  Donations are ongoing.

Perhaps your “Black Friday” shopping list could include bargain items for the MFD Toy drive.

“Your help is needed and greatly appreciated,” stated a member of the MFD Kids Toy Drive Committee.
