The Morrison Fillies opened their action at the Warkins Cardinal Classic at Erie, IL, High School with a win over the Lady Blackhawks from Stockton, IL.
The holiday tourney features 12 teams that play three games in their assigned pool and then compete against the same-ranked team of the opposite pool, to decide the final hardware they take home from the weekend action.
The Fillies jumped out to an 8-point advantage at the end of the first quarter and never let the Blackhawks recover. Lakin Goodman scored in every period, as she led all scorers with 24 points. Ashley Greul and Andrienne Banks chipped in 8 and 12 points, respectively, to support the Goodman effort and help the Fillies close out a 55-40 win.
