The Morrison High School Fillies Basketball season ended at the Pearl City Regional Finals, on Friday, February 17, 2023, with a loss to the Orangeville Lady Broncos, 64-36.
The Broncos opened with a 14-5 run by smothering the inside efforts of the Veltrop sisters. The Fillies garnered a revived effort to close the deficit to 20-15 in mid-second quarter, before the Broncos opened a halftime gap of 30-17.
The second half saw the Broncos open the middle and spread the floor to force one-on-one drives toward the basket, which either ended in a basket or a foul on the guarding Fillies, or both.
Three Fillies starters were seated with five-fouls, as the Broncos sealed the Regional title. They advance to the Sectional play on Tuesday, February 21, against Polo.
