Fillies No-Hit Durand Bulldogs

Brooke Stralow shut out the Lady Bulldogs from Durand High School in the Fulton Tourney on Saturday, April, 16, 2016, by not allowing a hit for five innings.  The Morrison High School Fillies plated ten runs for the 10-0 win.

Durand’s first base runner didn’t reach until the fifth inning, when their clean-up hitter (Asche) reached third on an error.  She was called out at home, when she attempted to score on an infield grounder three pitches later.  That ended the only scoring threat the Lady Bulldogs could muster against the Fillies.

On the offensive side of the game, the Fillies continued hitting the way they had been doing all tourney.  Emma Melton led off  the first with a triple.  She scored on a Lauren Vos grounder that was booted for an error, to open the scoring in the first inning.  The Fillies added three more tallies in the third inning on a three-run homer by Emma Sitzmore, after Stralow had doubled and Lauren Pannier had walked.  Jaeden Workman and Stralow drove in additional runs in the fourth inning, to up the score to 6-0 going into the fifth inning.  Sitzmore, Madison Steines, and Emily Szabo filled the bases to start the fifth inning.  One run was driven in by a Melton single.  Vos pushed the remaining three runners home with a clearing walk-off triple, to end the game via the ten run rule.
