The Morrison Fillies fell victim to the Riverdale Lady Rams Softball team, as they visited Port Byron, IL, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in record-setting form.
On this spring evening, perfection was in the air, as Ashlyn Hemm took the mound for the Lady Rams.
She easily handled the Fillies in the opening inning, by striking out the three batters she faced before her teammates scored two runs on two Fillie errors.
The second inning again saw only three Fillies step into the batter’s box. All three got a K recorded in the scorebook beside their name, to signify a strikeout. The Rams added four more runs to support the Hemm’s effort.
The last three Fillies listed in the starting lineup faced Hemm in the third inning. They also returned to the dugout after falling to her dominance.
The Ram’s ace continued her perfect game in the fourth inning. She quickly recorded strikeout numbers ten, 11, and 12. The Rams scored four final runs.
After the fourth inning, under the 10-run rule, the game closed.
This game was concluded with a record-setting performance of 12 strikeouts of all 12 batters, who had faced Riverdale’s Ashlyn Hemm.
