Fillies Embarrass Fulton Steamers

The Morrison, IL, Fillies scored 16 runs in the first three innings at the Fulton, IL, Tourney on Saturday, April 16, 2016.  They eliminated the Fulton Steamers via the 15-run rule.  Final score was Morrison 16, Fulton 0.

Lauren Pannier struck out six of the ten batters she faced  while the Morrison bats were embarassing the Steamers by pounding out eleven hits  as they sent 27 battters to the plate in run shortened game.

Jaeden Workman started the barrage in the first inning by crowning a grand slam home run on the first pitch she saw from Fulton starter Abby Willing. The Fillies scored again on an Emma Sitzmore double following a Pannier single.  Sitzmore was plated by Madison Steines‘s groundout.  The second inning started with singles by Lauren Vos and Brooke Stralow followed with a Workman double to score one.  Pannier, Sitzmore, and Eryn Young reached base via two walks and an error, to plate two more before Young was advanced home by a Melton single.  Vos cleared the bases with a three-run home run, to make the score 14-0 after two innings.  A bases loaded double by Emily Szabo in the third innings scored the final two runs, to force the early ending via the 15 run rule.  Morrison put a 16-0 win into the scorebook.
