The Dixon, IL, Duchesses were their own worst enemy as they supplied the Morrison Fillies six walks and commited five errors. The Morrison High School Fillies took advantage and recorded a 11-0 win.
The second inning saw Morrison score five runs. Doubles by Emily Szabo and Emma Sitzmore were surrounded by three Dixon errors and a base-on-balls. The third inning was more of the same. Morrison only recorded one single but crossed the plate five times, as Dixon walked four Fillies and committed two errors. The final Morrison run was scored in the fourth inning when Emma Melton singled, stole second base, and was driven home on a Brooke Stralow double.
The Morrison pitching combo of Stralow and Lauren Pannier held the Duchesses to one hit during the shortened five inning game. Stralow struck out five during her three innings on the mound.
