On Saturday, September 22, 2018, the Morrison Fillies swimmers competed in the Freeport[, IL,] Invitational Swim Meet. Rockford Auburn, Byron, Freeport, Rockford Guilford, Harlem, Rockford Jefferson, Morrison, Newman Central, Rock Island, Sterling, and Woodstock High Schools made up the 11 teams that swam in the swim meet. This meet would prove to be the toughest competition the Fillies have faced this year. Swimmers had ten top-6 finishes out of the 14 possible events, three of which were wins. Sadie, Sydney, and Sara Norman and Kate Henson won the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:59.13. Sara Norman added an individual win by coming in 1st place in the 50 Free with a 26.84. The three Norman girls along with Gracen Harmon also won the 200 Free Relay, with the time of 1:45.75. Morrison had an impressive 219 points overall, which placed them 3rd, behind Woodstock with 224 points and Byron with 305 points. The Fillies’ times and places follow.
