Fighting through a second quarter lull, the Morrison Fillies captured their second win in three tries and captured a second place at the Galva Turkey Tournamaent on Friday night, November 21, 2014.
The Morrison Fillies had to reach back and save a game that was slipping away, after taking a two-point lead in the opening quarter fired by two three-pointers by Lakin Goodman. The momentum slowed, as the Fillies commited nine turnovers in the second period to the Wildcats’ three. The Fillies trailed at the half by two points.
The half time adjustment revealed a rejuvenated effort, and the Wildcats were forced to foul to control the Filly progress. Making 15 for 22 at the freethrow line in the second half and 80% free throw shooting on the night kept the host Galva Lady Wildcats at bay. That secured a second place finish in the Galva Turkey tournament.
