The undefeated Morrison High School Fillies took the floor in Morrison, IL, for the home Girls Basketball opener of the season, against the Sherrard Lady Tigers on Monday, November 29, 2021. The obvious Sherrard game plan was to press and complicate the ball possession by the Veltrop sisters in the post area.
The Fillies struggled with the press and ended the first quarter down by eight points and the hall-time deficit at seven points. The Tigers’ advantage expanded, as the Fillies failed to defend the three-point shot.
The final score mounted to a 68-48 loss, to move the Fillies’ record to 6-1 on the young season.
