The Morrison Fillies started the month of May with a defeat of the Riverdale Lady Rams, behind the 5-hit pitching of Lauren Pannier. Final score was Morrison 12, Riverdale 1.
The Lady Rams opened the first inning by scoring their only run, on a two-out double by Hughes that scored Falk, who had received one of Pannier‘s two walks. The Fillies retaliated quickly. They plated four runs on five hits in the first inning, with RBI’s from Brooke Stralow, Emma Sitzmore, and Madison Steines. The second inning continued with Emma Melton‘s double and Lauren Vos‘s single. Jaeden Workman‘s single set the table for Stralow‘s two RBI’s to up the score to 6-1.
The Fillies took advantage of the Rams’ pitching woes. Two Fillies were hit by a pitch. Runs batted in by a fielder’s choice by Sarah Ostrander, singles by Melton and Stralow, and a bases loaded triple by Vos created the final 12-1 margin.
