These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
2/10/19 at 5:51 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies responded to a straight truck on its side across both westbound lanes on Interstate 88 at mile marker 28. Upon further investigation, it appeared the truck was originally traveling eastbound on I-88 when the driver lost control, traveled across both eastbound lanes, continued through the median, and rolled onto its passenger side in the westbound lanes. The driver, Antonio Diaz, age 27 of Chicago, IL, was uninjured in the crash. He was ultimately cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
2/10/19 at 6:20 p.m. While on scene for the truck roll-over crash, Deputies also handled a rear-end collision, as vehicles were stopped for the crash on the westbound lanes at mile marker 28. A vehicle driven by Hai Ngoc Tu, age 56 of Troy, OH, failed to reduce speed and crashed into the rear end of a vehicle driven by Jacob A. Snyder, age 24 of Johnston, IA. No one was injured. Tu was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
2/10/19 at 6:54 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies, while still on scene of the roll-over truck, observed a vehicle, traveling eastbound on I-88 at mile marker 28, lose control, travel across both eastbound lanes, through the median, where it rolled twice and landed back on its wheels. The driver, Cassidy Waters, age 25 of Naperville, IL, and her passenger, Melissa Waters, age 25 of Toledo, IL, were both transported to CGH Medical Center for further treatment and/or evaluation. Cassidy was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
2/10/19 at 7:00 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies responded to a roll-over crash on I-88 at 28 mile marker. During the investigation of the crash, Korey J. L. Rodriguez, age 26 of Rockford, IL, was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle, entered the south ditch, and rolled. Rodriguez was uninjured from the crash and cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions before he was released.
The Illinois State Police, Prophetstown/Lyndon Fire Department, Prophetstown EMS, Prophetstown Police Department, Morrison Fire Department, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Johnson’s Towing, along with Todd’s Towing assisted on scene at mile marker 28.
