FACE Holiday Challenge Match Underway

dollarbillsThe Fulton Association for Community Enrichment (FACE) has a holiday challenge match underway, to increase the permanent resources for grants throughout the community–those grants given by FACE through its annual grant cycle.

The D. S. Flikkema Foundation has pledged to match up to $5000 in donations.  Anonymous donors have pledged to match up to an additional $2500.  That means, that all donations to the Face Community Impact Endowment made between Sunday, November 1, 2015, and the end of the calendar year will be matched dollar-for-dollar, until that combined $7500 in matching funds has been “claimed.”

Every year since 2008, FACE has been able to give thousands of dollars in grants to numerous local organizations.  However, some annual sources of money that FACE has relied upon since its inception in 2006 are no longer an option.  This makes the size of FACE’s Community Impact Endowment all the more important.  It provides a permanent source of funds for FACE grants.  The larger the endowment is, the greater the distribution amount for FACE grants.

The objective of this challenge match is to build up greater permanent resources from which to fund annual grants.  That will secure a brighter future for the many Fulton area organizations and services which can benefit from FACE grants.

The holidays are the single biggest season for charitable donations in the U. S.  Whether people just think more consciously about charity this time of year, whether they decide to give loved ones a gift that will keep on giving, or whether they are giving as part of their year-end tax planning, the holidays are an ideal time to give.  It’s important to know that when you give, someone else will match it–doubling the impact of your donation.

The easiest ways to make a donation are by check or online.
• By check made payable to FACE Community Impact Endowment, dated no later than Thursday, December 31, 2015.  FACE is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend, so checks should be mailed directly to CFGRB, 852 Middle Road, Suite 100, Bettendorf, IA 52722.  They must be postmarked by no later than December 31, 2015.  Please note on the check if the donation is to be anonymous or enclose a note indicating this.
•  Online go to https://cfgrb.givebig.org/c/Funds/a/CFGRB-191.  Fill in the amount you wish to donate.  Click on the orange Donate button, to get the secure screen to fill in credit card information.
