Explore Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge

BirdwatchersStewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge are began their monthly bird walks on Saturday, April 14, 2018.  Walks will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Participants will meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Ingersoll Wetland Learning Center and carpool to various locations on the refuge.

When the Center is not open, participants will meet at the Sloane Marsh parking lot, located across the road from the Center’s entrance.  Ingersoll Wetland Learning Center is located at 7071 Riverview Road, Thomson, IL.

Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge (SUMRR), is non-profit organization dedicated to: environmental education, creating quality wildlife habitat, and enhancing the public’s understanding and enjoyment of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, and to provide assistance to the mission and programs of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
