Evelyn June Damhoff, 96, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, May 6, 2022, peacefully at her home. She is now with her Lord and Savior.
Evelyn was born May 12, 1925, in Clinton, IA, to Henry and Katherine (DeWeerdt) Borgman. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She married Raymond Damhoff on February 12, 1948, in Fulton, IL. He died September 12, 2010. Evelyn was first employed by the Clinton Garment Factory and then Excelsior Laundry Service in Clinton. She then farmed with her husband and was Secretary for his real estate and auctioneering business. She was a charter member of the former Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, where she was a member of the Priscilla Circle. Evelyn had a strong Christian faith, and her ministry was sending cards to people and making food for those in need. She was an avid baker.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Kurt) Stralow of Morrison, IL; sons, Kenny (Patti) Damhoff and Russ (Deborah) Damhoff both of Fulton; daughter-in-law, Julie Damhoff; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Dykstra of Fulton; sister-in-law, Deanie Damhoff of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Larry Damhoff; granddaughter, Angela VanZuiden; sister, LaVerta M. Balk.
Her Funeral service will be held at 10:30 p.m., on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Stralow officiating.
A Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL.
Memorials have been established to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and to The Pregnancy Center in Clinton, IA.
