Evelyn H. Haas, 94, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison.
Evelyn was born January 1, 1929, in Clinton, IA, to Walter K. and Elfrieda (Martensen) Biermann. She attended Clinton schools and was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Floyd M. Haas on February 4, 1951, in Clinton. He died November 11, 2013. In her earlier years, she worked various jobs around the Clinton area including, secretarial duties at Clinton Corn. Later, she spent time raising her children and helping her husband on the farm. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of Community Club and Mothers Club at Clystic and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Clinton. Along with her husband, she also volunteered at the Morrison Food Pantry. Evelyn and Floyd loved to go out dancing with their friends. They called themselves the “Bethesda Baddies.”
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Dykstra of Morrison; sons, Dave Haas of Clinton, Bill (Midge) Haas of Stillman Valley, IL, and Jim (Holly) Haas of Muskego, WI; eight grandchildren, Karen (Steve) Ullrick, Janelle Dykstra, Susan (Dan) Bartel, Bryan (Cassidy) Haas, Shawn (Morgan) Haas, Nathan (Juliana) Haas, Ben Haas, and Will Haas; ten great-grandchildren, Madeline and Jacob Ullrick, Lucy and Owen Herbeck, Caleb and Makenzie Bartel, Makayla Haas, Emilia Haas, Gio Haas, and Vinny Haas; sister-in-law, Carol Biermann; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Daisy; husband, Floyd; daughter, Lori Haas; sister, Lucille Dietz; brothers, Wally, Bob, Gene, Dick, and Kenneth Biermann, in infancy; mother-in-law, Carrie C. Haas.
Her Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL, with Rev. Tammy Anderson, Pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church, officiating.
A Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Bethesda Lutheran Church.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
