Ethel M. Jacobs, 89, of Morningside of Sterling in Sterling, IL, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Morningside.
Ethel was born August 8, 1928, in Cordova Township, IL, to Maurice and Madge (Hoobler) Sullivan. She was a graduate of Fulton High School and received her Associates Degree in Education at Clinton Community College in Clinton, IA. Ethel married Kenneth Jacobs on February 1, 1950, in Fulton, IL. He died May 25, 1974. She was a teacher and, once married, she helped on the farm. She later worked at General Electric in Morrison, IL, as a Time Clerk, retiring in 1992. Ethel was a member of the GEM Club of GE.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia A. Cronister of Morrison; one son, Douglas (Amanda) Jacobs of Sterling; six grandchildren, Enrica and Endrea Jacobs; Kaitlin, Tyler, Justin, and Kenneth Cronister; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor (Jacob) Medema of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; one sister, Helen Banse.
