Estela G. Escamilla, 88 of Sterling, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Estela was born February 15, 1929, in San Benito, TX, the daughter of Richard and Josephine (Avila) Garza. She married Bernabe Escamilla on May 29, 1948, in San Benito, TX. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1993.
Survivors include three daughters, Yolanda (Gary) Clayes of Morrison, IL, Mary (Ron) Pannebaker of Dallas, TX, and Lydia Escamilla of Sterling; two sons, Benny (Mary) Escamilla of Sterling and Bernie and (Ellen) Escamilla of Chillicothe, IL; two brothers, Richard (Margaret) Garza and Herman Garza, both of San Antonio, TX; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ray Escamilla, one granddaughter, and two grandsons.
Mass of the Christian Burial will held be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling, IL, with Reverend Adalberto Sanchez, officiating.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., and the Visitation will follow until 10:45, Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, IL.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling, IL.
A memorial has been established.
