Ernst Named to All-State Scholastic Team

AlexErnstAlex Ernst, Morrison, IL, was named to the IHSSBCA All-State Team for his accomplishments during the 2013-2014 Scholastic Bowl season.  He was nominated by coaches of teams attending the same tournaments Morrison High School Scholastic Bowl attended.

Teammates Michael Hardesty and Hannah Rillie were also named to the All-State Team. 

The MHS Varsity Scholastic Bowl Team, coached by Adam Smith, finished the season with a 49-13 record and an IHSA Regional Championship. 

Alex answered a total of 196 Toss-ups correctly throughout the year and was named the MVP at the team’s end-of-the-year gathering.  During the season, Alex was named to several All-Conference Tournament Teams, including IHSSBCA Northwest Region Kick-off Tournament; IHSSBCA Northwest Region Turnabout Tournament; Three Rivers Conference All-Conference 1st Team.
   
Alex is a 17 year old Junior who divides his education.  At Morrison High School, he studies Chemistry, Advanced Speech, and Algebra II.  At home, he studies AP United States History, American Literature, and German III.

Alex plans to attend the University of Illinois where he will major in Political Science.

Alex is the son of Mark and Tonia Ernst of Morrison, IL.  His grandparents are Larry and Connie Shryock of Coffeen, IL, and John and Sarah Ernst of Hillsboro, IL.
