Ernest L. Browne, age 80 of Rock Falls, IL, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA.
Ernest was born on May 4, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to George and Nellie (Kamman) Browne. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Ernest married Rosemary Brody on December 4, 1973, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL; she preceded him in death on September 25, 2013. He was employed by National Manufacturing for 20 years.
Survivors include five daughters, Carrie (Ken) LaRue of Chicago, Pam Sauter of Plano, IL, Crystal (Tim) Lilly of Morrison, IL, Valerie Wolf of Sterling, and Becky Wolf of Polo, IL; one son, Ernest Browne, Jr. of Winamac, IN; three sisters, Mary Crebo of Rock Falls, Judy (John) Gordon of Rock Falls, and Ellen (Richard) Comiskey of Mundelein, IL; three brothers, George (Victoria) Browne of Bristol, TN, James (Christine) Browne of Dixon, IL, and Phillip (Sharon) Browne of Lisle, IL; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, one sister, Betty Larby; one brother, Paul Browne.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls, IL.
