Emma J. Vervaecke, 104, of Morrison, IL, passed away at her home, Thursday, June 4, 2020.
Emma was born March 6, 1916, in rural Hoopole, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Johnson) Sibley. She married Emil “Red” Vervaecke in 1938 in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death in October 2000. Emma was a great candy maker. She was most known for her famous divinity fudge and chocolate-covered cherries.
Survivors include her son, Richard Vervaecke of Mosinee, WI; daughter, Kathy Williams of Morrison; son-in-law, Thomas Huett of Middleburg, FL; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Karen Huett; three sisters; brother; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Vervaecke.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, IL.
