Emelie Jean Workman, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL.
Emelie was born July 12, 1938, in Oak Park, IL, to Anthony Frederick and Jeannie (Havenga) Stoit. She attended grade and high school in Evergreen Park, IL. On March 22, 1958, she married Robert A. Workman, Sr. in Evergreen Park. He died September 23, 1998. Emelie worked for General Electric Co. and the Morrison Bakery in Morrison. She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Pleasant View [Rehabilitation & Health Care Center] in Morrison. Emelie and her husband, Robert, loved camping, and for 30 years they spent their summers camping. She enjoyed playing dominos and bingo with her friends. Emelie cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Workman, Jr. of Savanna, IL, Roger (Brenda) Workman of Morrison, Thomas Workman of Morrison; daughter, Lori Workman of South Elgin, IL; ten grandchildren, Michael, Bobby, Mathew, Ryan, Tommy, Dakota, Nicholas, Alyssa, Brock, and Bryce; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, Sr.; sister, Dorothy Stoit.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service on the same day, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Following COVID-19 regulations for the Visitation and Funeral Service, social distancing and face masks will be required.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to American Lung Association has been established.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
