Embrey Toppert Bowled for Gold

Saturday, December 4, 2021, was an especially busy, diverse, and fulfilling day for 15-year-old Embrey Toppert of Morrison, IL.

There are 15 athletes on the Bi-County Special Education Cooperative’s Bulldogs Bowling Team.  Toppert has bowled for two years, training at Blackhawk Lanes in Sterling, IL, stated Coach Mandi Roggy.  “Embrey is the only State qualifier,” Roggy added.

Competition in the Special Olympics Female Single class began in Peoria, IL, at noon.  Embrey won Gold!  After a hurried return home, the young Olympian just managed to ride in the Morrison Christmas Parade, with proud Coach Roggy as her driver.

The Bulldogs are shown below, left-to-right: front row, Andrew Bertolozzi, Shad Eshelman, Aedyn Reyes, Jace Schoon, and Lincoln Weaver; back row, J’Marion Hill, Coach Roggy, Ashley Ogburn, Carter Bertolozzi, Coach Jamie, Jackson Weaver, and Embrey Toppert.
