Eloise M. Voss, 93, of Morrison, IL, formerly of Thomson, IL, died Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
Eloise was born May 27, 1922, in Thomson, to George and Henrietta (Buikema) Dykstra. She was a graduate of York Community High School in Thomson and attended AIC Business College in Davenport, IA. Eloise married Burnie Voss on January 7, 1949, in Thomson. He died April 29, 1999. She was first employed as an accountant by the One-In-Hand Tie Company for 34 years. She later worked as a caseworker for the Illinois Department of Public Aid and as an accountant for United Lumber Company in Clinton, IA, for four years. Eloise was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s Miriam Circle. She was also a member and Past Treasurer of Harbor Crest Nursing Home Auxiliary and the Illinois Federated Women’’s Club of Thomson. Eloise served on the York Township Library Board and as leader for the York-Cedar 4-H Club for 25 years.
Survivors include two sisters, Gladys M. Larson of Osage, IA, and Sylvia J. Venhuisen of Littleton, CO; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Burnie.
