Elnora Hinrichs, age 91, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling., IL.
Elnora was born on November 3, 1924, in Fulton, IL, the daughter of David and Alice (Smith) Wierema. She married Glenn Hinrichs on April 18, 1945, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1985. Elnora was a homemaker and member of First Lutheran Church of West Jordon, Sterling.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Retherford of Rock Falls, IL, Cindy (Allen) Bannick of Deer Grove, IL, and Lanette Hinrichs of Rock Falls; nine sons, Roger Hinrichs of Milledgeville, IL, Arlyn (Kathy) Hinrichs of Chadwick, IL, David Hinrichs of Sterling, Dan (Tammy) Hinrichs of Sterling, Mike Hinrichs of Lanark, IL, Mark (Kim) Hinrichs of Chadwick, Dick (Elly) Hinrichs of Chadwick, Scott Hinrichs of Morrison, IL, and Tim Hinrichs of Polo, IL; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jennette Wiersema; three brothers, Ed, George, and Howard Wierema; one son-in-law, Joe Retherford; one daughter-in-law, Vicki Hinrichs; one grandson, Shawn Hinrichs.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at First Lutheran Church of West Jordon, Sterling, IL, with Reverend Jamie Gallagher officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Sterling, IL.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
