Ellis “Tiny” Engel, age 72 of Rock Falls, IL, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at his home.
Ellis was born on January 3, 1942, in Galena, IL, to Edward and Emma (Schoenfeld) Engel. He married Gloria Rosenow on May 15, 1971, in Morrison, IL. Ellis worked as a mechanic at Shell in Morrison, then as a Police Officer in Morrison for five years. He then retired from Do It Best. Ellis enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, and hobby farming. He was an avid collector of model cars, trucks, and clocks. He loved his dog, Sarah. Ellis was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.
Survivors include his wife Gloria; two brothers, Emmett Engel of Hanover, IL, and Eugene (Marilyn) Engel of Lena, IL; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, IL, with Reverend Daniel Behmlander officiating.
Cremation rites will follow.
