eleanor jane ardappleEleanor Jane Ardapple, 93, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.

Jane was born December 6, 1924, in Morrison, to John and Jennie (Renkes) Heusinkveld.  She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a 1942 graduate of Morrison High School.  Jane married James A. Ardapple on December 12, 1945, in Home Acres, MI.  He died April 10, 2014.  Following the death of her mother at a young age, she provided homemaking for her father.  Jane was employed by the former Ice Box Restaurant in Morrison, the Green River Ordinance Depot, Morrison Community Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, and as a school bus driver for Morrison.  She also served as an election judge.  Jane was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday School and led Bible studies.  She was a member of Girls League, and the Lydian and Ladies Aid Societies at church.  She served on the boards of Resthave Home and American Field Service.  Jane sang for 50 years in the church choir and sang in a Morrison Hospital Quartet and a Women’s Trio.  She hosted many visiting choir members, missionaries, ministers, and international students.  Jane served as a foster mother for at-risk teenagers.  She was a faithful visitor at Resthave and Pleasant View Homes and Morrison Community Hospital and was a caregiver for numerous relatives.  Throughout her entire life, her faith, family, church, and community were most important to her.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Ann (Marc Adami) Ardapple of Morrison and Beth Ardapple of Bass, AR; two sons, Philip Ardapple of Mt. Carroll, IL, and Mark Ardapple of Morrison; eight grandchildren, Chris Ardapple, Caren (Matt) Campbell, Kirsten (Scott Ohms) Adami, Edana (David) Hale, Leif (Mary Chang) Kindberg, Pedro Ardapple, Mike (Jen) Kuehl, and Jennifer (Tim) McCombie; 17 great-grandchildren, Tobin, Kiptyn, and Maren House; Andrew Kaiser, Cade and Colt Campbell, Cale and Francesa Ohms, Eleana Hale, Lucas Kindberg, Noah, Isaiah, and Leah Kuehl, Austin Edwards, Kelden, Ian, and Ryker McCombie; her foreign exchange student “daughter,” Marvelia (Tony) Mangona, Marvelia’s daughters, Ianthe (Matt) Zabel and Jessica (Clay) Shortall, and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; four brothers, Alvin “Bob” Heusinkveld, Arnold “Bud” Heusinkveld, Clarence Heusinkveld, and Milton Heusinkveld.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, preceded by visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Rev. Gerald H. Norman will officiate.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church.
