Eilene E. Proud, 81, of Morrison, IL, died peacefully at home Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
Eilene was born March 12, 1938, in Clinton, IA, to Lawrence W. Greenwalt, Sr. and Laneda “Dietz” (Lampe) Greenwalt. She attended Clinton, Grade and High Schools. She married Marvin E. Proud on June 6, 1954, in Clinton. He died July 28, 2000. Eilene worked as an assembler at General Electric Co. in Morrison, Neilson Clearing House in Clinton, and as a CNA at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison. Most recently she worked at Fast Stop Gas Station in Morrison. She enjoyed playing tennis and bowling, and, while in school, she was a swimmer. She loved to play the violin, was very interested in geology, was an avid birdwatcher, and enjoyed researching her genealogy.
Survivors include daughters, Joline Kershaw of Christiana, TN; Lynette (Steve) Cassens and Christine (Steve) Young, both of Morrison, and Janelle Proud of Fulton, IL; sons, Gregory “Piggy” Proud of Morrison and Lawrence Proud of Maquoketa, IA; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Skooter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; son, Jeffrey Lawrence Proud; brother, Lawrence “Larry” Greenwalt.
Cremation rites have been accorded, there will be no visitation or services.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life observance.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
