The eighth grade and Life Skills classes recently prepared a Thanksgiving feast at Morrison Junior High School, 300 Academic Drive, Morrison, IL. The Bi-County Foundation donated a $500 grant, which was used to purchase food and supplies.
Drew Hoffman and Mrs. Tenboer discuss the event.
Family Chef donated dinner rolls for the meal and several delicious desserts. Thanks to Resul Dzeladini, owner of Family Chef Restaurant, 701 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, students were able to invite parents or grandparents for dessert; there were 75 guests in attendance. Dzeladini is shown below.
Katie Jakubs, owner of Kreative Rentals, Ltd., 115 E. Main Street, Morrison, transformed the Junior High cafeteria and made this meal extraordinary for the students with stunning food and desert tables, as well as tablecloths and centerpieces. Shown left-to-right are Devon Stewart, Gaby Oballe, Daultin Wagenecht, Jordan Cromwell, Reilly Dolan, and Jakubs.
This was a unique event that allowed students to come together and share a time of Thanksgiving. Much thanks to those community members who made this event possible.
The eighth grade students, Life Skills Class, Mrs. Stoudt, Mrs. Temple, and Mrs. Tenboer appreciate these local businesses for their contributions to the students’ Thanksgiving project and feast.
