Edna Anne Spencer, 90, of Rock Falls, IL, died on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling, IL.
Edna was born on January 24, 1931, in Spring Valley, IL, the daughter of Louis and Lois (Noling) Byvick. She was educated in the Sterling, IL, schools through the ninth grade. She graduated from Chicago Christian High School in 1948. Her working career started as a Department Manager at Lerners Clothing Store in Chicago, IL. She later married Gail Spencer and returned to the area to raise her three children, Linda (Tim) Vos of Morrison, IL, Darrel Spencer (deceased), and Kalah (David) Knutti of Chadwick IL. After raising her children, she returned to work at Elkay, Chaffee’s Café, and Martin House, She eventually retired from National Manufacturing after 19 years. She later worked part-time for the late Dr. King. Leisure time with her friends was spent finding which restaurant had the best pork tenderloins, pizza, or pie. She also spent 19 years perfecting her Christmas cookie recipe!
Survivors include her daughters; six grandchildren, Brian (Cheryl) Meiners, Tina Scott, all of Morrison, Andy (Tonya) Spencer of Walnut, IL, Nick (Amy) Spencer of Morrow, OH, Kyle (Jessica) Knutti, and Dr. Janelle (Chad) Beyer, all of Milledgeville, IL; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; niece, LuAnn Wolber of Rock Falls; nephew, Oris (Dana) DePuy of Monroe, WI.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
In honor of Edna’s wishes, no Services will be held.
