Morrison Early Learning Program and Northside Elementary School Kindergarten will hold screenings for young children, who will be eligible to attend during the 2020-2021 school year. The location is 520 N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL.
Both screenings are free of charge, but parents are asked to schedule an appointment with the Northside Elementary School office at 815-772-2153 as soon as possible.
Kindergarten screenings are necessary for proper class placement.
PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS
The Morrison Early Learning Program at Northside School will sponsor preschool screenings for those children who live with-in the Morrison School District and who will be three- or four-years-old during the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year.
The screening team will use the DIAL-4 Assessment, which provides a positive, non-threatening environment, essential to effective early screening. Children complete fun, age-appropriate tasks using bright, appealing, child-friendly materials. The DIAL-4 assesses motor skills, concept formation, and language development.
In addition we will complete a hearing and vision screening.
All families will be asked to complete a family screening profile.
KINDERGARTEN SCREENINGS
Northside Elementary School will be conduct Kindergarten screenings for any child turning five years old. If you have, or know of, a child that will be Kindergarten age during the upcoming school year, please call the Northside School office to set up an appointment for testing.
If your child is already a student enrolled in a program at the Northside school, you will not need to set up an appointment. Your child will be screened during their normal school day.
