E-P Edges Fillies

To say that the recent years of competition between the Morrison Fillies and the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers has been intense is almost an understatement.  The Panthers visited the Morrison Sports Complex, which is the site of the often-rememberd and highly-contested game of two years ago, on Monday afternnoon, April 25, 2016.  The Panthers left town with an exciting 4-3 win.

The E-P offense tota involved the bat of their second baseman Stout, as she opened the first inning with a 2-run home run off Fillies starter Lauren Pannier.  Stout drove in the other two Panther runs in the fourth innig with her double.

The Fillies were not without opportunities, as they stranded a runner on third base to end three different innings.  They opened the first inning with an Emma Melton double.  She later scored on a Jaeden Workman sacrfice, to cut the early Panther lead to one.  Morrison added another run in the fourth inning; Melton triple plated Madison Steines, who had reached on a base on balls.  Brooke Stralow lofted a home run over the left field fence in the fifth inning to create the final score of 4-3.
