On a chilly, Monday afternoon on April 24, 2023, Bellah Duncan put her name into the Morrison Filly record book, by pitching a seven-inning no-hitter, against rival Erie-Prophetstown. The bottom of the sixth inning told the tale. Jordan Eads’ line-drive double bounced against the left-center field fence, to drive in the only run of the game in the 1-0 win.
Duncan struck out 14 Panthers during her no-hit effort, to expand the Fillies’ season record to ten wins and five losses.
The Fillies were challenged on the mound by the Panther’s N. Jones as she struck out eleven (11) and only allowed three (3) hits, but the critical timing of the sixth-inning hits created the small margin of victory. The Panthers made it interesting in the seventh inning as a batter reached base on an error, stole second, and stood on third after a passed ball with only one out. Duncan proceeded to strike out the next two batters to end the uprising and secure the win.
