On Saturday, December 1, 2018, generous donors are invited to drive through the Morrison, IL, Fire Station, 206 W. Main Street, with contributions for the Department’s annual “Caring for Our Community” toy drive. From 9:00 a.m. to noon, bring unwrapped toys for children and teens of all ages. Cash donations will be used to purchase items for children.
At the conclusion of the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Walk and Lighted Parade that evening, visitors are invited to the station for doughnuts, cookies, and hot chocolate. At that time, the public also may bring unwrapped toys to the Fire Station or make a monetary donation.
Mark your calendar for a related service project. Gifts will be matched to appropriate local children and wrapped on Tuesday, December 18, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Any “wrap-happy” volunteers are encouraged to help. You choose gifts from the donation tables to suit the age and gender of each unidentified child. All supplies will be furnished.
