Dr. William J. “Bill” Simpson, 59, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa, City, IA.
Bill was born on January 14, 1955, in Breckenridge, MN, to William L. and Alice M. (Petersen) Simpson. He was a 1973 graduate of Mitchell High School in Mitchell, SD. He received a Bachelor of Science degree, and, in 1981, he received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. On December 18, 1976, he married Deanna K. Lehman in Mitchell. Bill moved to Morrison in 1981 where he practiced general dentistry for 33 years. He was a member of the American Dental Association, a member and Past President of the Whiteside-Lee Dental Society, and a member of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He served on the board of trustees of the Illinois Dental Society and on the Insurance Council of the American Dental Association. He served on the board of directors of Morrison Community Hospital. For 29 years he served on the Sauk Valley Community College Board, where he was a past board Chairman. Bill was a member of the Morrison Lions Club, and he was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna; one son, Scott Simpson of Charleston, SC; his mother, Alice Simpson of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Jim (Kathy) Simpson of Omaha, and Scott (Megan) Simpson of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Simpson; one sister, Jean Gray.

VISITATION: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Hansen Desert Hills Memorial Park, Scottsdale, AZ
