As a pleasant surprise, Keynote speaker Dr. Jannett Highfill both informed and entertained attendees at the Whiteside Forum on Friday, April 19, 2013, with her topic, “The Economics of Globilization and Basic International Comparisons.” This is certainly not considered amusing material, but Dr. Highfill is more than a highly-educated economist. She is also a poet, Bradley University Professor of Economic, and journal editor. She is–of necessity–skilled in the delivery of serious topics to varied audiences with insight, comparison, and humor.
